'She Walks, She Leads', by Gunjan Jain

Over the years, I’ve read a lot of anthologies, and quite a good number of biographies and memoirs too. Never before however, did I get a chance to read an anthology OF biographies, before ‘She Walks, She Leads- Women who inspire India’ , by Gunjan Jain. Excited by all that I had heard about the book online I started to read it, and by the end of the first paragraph of the Introduction, I was convinced that the book is full of feminist, anti-men views and stuff like that. I was wrong. It does nothing of that sort. In fact, the book is a celebration of womanhood. It is a celebration of the feminine, not the feminism. ‘She Walks, She Leads’ is a compilation of inspiring life journeys of 24 Indian women. The entire list of 24 has been cleverly divided into six categories namely: 1) Altruism and other interests ; which includes Nita Ambani, Parmeshwar Godrej, Sudha Murthy, Yasmeen Premji, and Rajshree Birla             2) Corporate...

'No Safe Zone', by Adite Banerjie

NO SAFE ZONE  by ADITE BANERJIE Blurb Qiara Rana will do anything to save her mentor and their non-government organization from ruin. Even if it means visiting the city she had vowed never to return to. But within a few hours of landing in New Delhi, she is being chased by a gunman and is a potential suspect in the murder of a high-profile businessman.  The only person she can turn to for help is Kabir Shorey, the man who stood her up ten years ago. Past and present collide in a deadly plot of crime and greed that moves from the cosmopolitan streets of Delhi to the bazaars and villages of Rajasthan.  MY REVIEW Adite Banerjie, if I may say so, is a brave writer. After all, it’s not often that you see a writer comfortably set in his/her respective zones and genres, breaking the boundaries and making foray into an unknown territory. With ‘No Safe Zone’, Adite has done just that. She is famous and recognized as a romance writer, esp...
